Adding IDX to Squarespace

Looking for a Squarespace IDX plugin?

Hi, there ! We are going to show you how to add MLS search and display properties seamlessly on your Squarespace website in just a few minutes.

This method will embed MLS search, properties and other functions directly onto your current pages – on your website domain. There are no iframes and no sub-domains. The plugin Theming system will let you style the widgets so that they integrate perfectly with your Squarespace design.

There are only 2 steps to do this:

  1. Install and enable loading of the Buying Buddy plugin on every page
  2. Add Buying Buddy widgets to all your pages where required.

Let’s get started!

Step 1. Install the Plugin on Squarespace.

Login to your Buying Buddy account.

If you don’t have a Buying Buddy account then learn about Buying Buddy and get started from our main site at BuyingBuddy.com

Copy the IDX plugin code from your Buying Buddy dashboard to your clipboard.

Next, go to your Squarespace editor.

In the Editor Menu, go to Settings.
Next, select “Advanced”… and then “Code Injection”.

Paste the IDX plugin script in the HEAD section and SAVE.

Step 2 Add IDX Widgets to any page

Now that the IDX plugin is installed, you can add MLS IDX components to display properties, provide a property search, display properties on maps and so on.

On any current or new pages in your Squarespace site, edit the page and add a new block.

Select add code.

Copy the IDX widget short code from your Buying Buddy account and paste this into the code block- and save.

Doing More

If you would like to find out how to place the other widgets return to your Buying Buddy account and get more IDX components.

Your Squarespace site editor will allow you to use all the capabilities of the Buying Buddy widgets.

Some example that you may like to consider include;

  • Adding a Featured Listings page to display your own listings
  • Showing your Sold properties
  • Creating neighborhood pages with properties for neighborhoods
  • Adding lead capture forms that send leads directly to the Buying Buddy CRM
  • Adding a general contact form widget
  • and a lot more!

You can now use Widget Themes to style widgets – or even add custom CSS too if you wish to.
